Hannah Bunting, MSW, LCSW
Seeking out therapy can feel daunting. My work as a therapist is motivated by the understanding that everyone has skills to develop, past hurts to heal, and a strong side of them that has helped them through very difficult times. Everyone could use a supportive environment to grow. Together, we can pick the type of treatment that best suits you. I most often use EMDR (feel free to look up this fantastic, evidence-based treatment here: emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), but am trained in other modalities (Trauma-Focused CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD).
I work with children, teens, and adults in individual counseling. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and social welfare and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I would be honored to join you in your journey of growth through therapy, incorporating important elements of your identity including your culture, faith/spirituality, background, and other unique characteristics of yourself. I offer sessions both via telehealth and in-person in Stevens Point and Wausau.
Specific concerns I have experience working with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress and adjustment
- PTSD and trauma, including attachment and childhood trauma
- Suicidal thoughts and self-harm
- Borderline personality disorder and other personality disorders
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Bipolar disorder and symptoms of psychosis
- Identity concerns and low self-esteem
