Jovid

Jovid was born and raised in Central Wisconsin. He has over 20 years of experience providing counseling services to individuals and families in various capacities including adolescent residential care, intensive in-home counseling, and child and adolescent day treatment. Jovid graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a master's degree in Educational Psychology with an Emphasis in Community Counseling.

Jovid’s counseling style most closely resembles person-centered theory while emphasizing hierarchy of needs. Jovid uses techniques from theories including Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Family Systems Therapy. Jovid utilizes techniques and strategies from the major theories of counseling depending upon what will be most helpful. Jovid is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Jovid’s faith, genuineness, sense of humor, solution-focus, and never-ending optimism are important foundations for him.

Jovid enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, two sons, and three cats. He enjoys camping and doing home projects. Jovid particularly enjoys helping others in areas including but not limited to maximizing one’s potential, ending self-inflicted barriers, stress management, parenting skills, family relationships, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, decision-making, depression, abuse, trauma recovery, and interpersonal relationships.
