Background and Experience
Melanie Strand-Glatczak obtained her undergraduate degree from UW-Stevens Point in Psychology. She attended University Of Minnesota to complete her Master’s in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. Melanie has worked with clients in a variety of settings. She has many specialized trainings including multiple modalities in Trauma Informed Care. The modalities include EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy as well as trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy which allows clients to find their best approach to working through their trauma. Among other specialties, Melanie has trained in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) an evidenced-based OCD treatment. Melanie sees clients that are 16 years old and older.
Melanie understands that deciding to seek therapy can be both intimidating as well as empowering. Melanie believes that the therapeutic relationship is so very important to feeling safe and having the ability to be open to walk along her client’s journey. Help can be amazing when you feel a part of your journey. So often when people seek treatment, they find themselves feeling stuck or experiencing negative beliefs about themselves such as “not feeling good enough.” Change is important and the first step is exploring you. Her approach combines many types of therapy but has a strong focus in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
